As a musician, composer, songwriter and arranger, I have known about several of the laws pertaining to creative works. My goal is to be the student of my students and by being able to connect with them through media, via WebQuests, project based learning and designing strategies that are driven with technology, I can keep them engaged and empowered.Ĭopyright laws are fascinating and outdated. Just being able to build a blog site and use multiple sources of content is valuable in so many ways as an educator. I am a better teacher because of this course. It has opened my mind to so many products and ways to use technology not only in my daily life, but in my classroom. When I heard about this class, I immediately wanted to challenge it because my arrogance said “technology!?….psssh.” However, I am so glad that I had this opportunity. I realized it was my turn to give back and share my life experiences through music. My students made me fall in love with teaching. So here I am, with a teaching gig and most of a single subject credential/Master’s degree at the University of LaVerne. Teaching fell into my lap, yet becoming a teacher was the last thing in the world I ever thought that I would do. I needed to go back to music and doing what I loved to do. After being in that industry for 13 years, my soul was empty.
